What is 4D Baby Scan Premium Package?
4D Baby Scan Premium is the most popular growth scan at our Private Ultrasound clinic at 2 Wimpole Street, central London. It is a combination of thorough measurements of the baby’s anatomy together with most high-definition live images of the baby – its face, body, hands and feet in photo-realistic quality 4 dimensions (subject to baby’s position).
It is a wonderful bonding experience with your yet to be born baby as we take a peek into the baby’s world, see the face, hands, feet and sometimes, if lucky, see them yawn, wave or even smile.
How is 4D Baby Scan performed?
4D Baby scan is best performed between weeks 24-32 as the baby is of a good size and in the optimal position.
This is an external ultrasound examination, with an ultrasound probe gently gliding over your abdomen, while you watch the images on a big TV screen.
It is entirely safe and comfortable for both you and your baby.
What will the scan examine?
- Measurements of baby’s head, heart, abdomen and limbs
- Amniotic fluid
- Placental position
- Baby’s movements
- Blood flow from placenta to the baby
- 4D images of the baby’s face, hands and feet

Yes, an ultrasound specialist Doctor will be available to talk to if you have additional questions or concerns. We will ask you to show the report to your own Doctor or midwife. We can also provide details of the highly regarded Obstetricians and Foetal Medicine specialists we have been working with for many years, should you need any further advice and care.
What are the preparations for this scan?
While there is no need for any special preparation, we do recommend consuming a healthy sugary snack 30 minutes before your appointment time. This helps us keep the baby active and ‘posing for pictures’ better
